After this fight, Ishe Smith should be recognized as one of the more serious contenders at the welterweight level. Smith has very good boxing skills at age 25 and should be able to outbox Randall Bailey "all night long". Smith looked very impressive and hungry in his last bout vs David Estrada.

Although Bailey has an impressive KO ratio, nearly all of his victories have come from subpar competition. I have only had the opportunity to see Bailey in action once. That is when he fought Corley for 12 rounds in what turned out to be a very boring fight. Bailey lost that fight by a wide margin to Corley who was also unimpressive. Corley is also very overrated IMO.

I just do not see Bailey winning this bout. He does not have the same level of desire as does Ishe Smith. Nor is he as skilled a boxer.

I know that you can find these lines at 5 Dimes and Olympic as of right now.

Do not be fooled by Bailey's stoppages. This will be a very good fight for Smith.

But time will tell.

I hedged it! (what was I thinking)
icon_rolleyes.gif

Olympic has 10.5 over/under. wsex has 9.5 over/under. So if you think it's going to go under, pick olympic. If you think it's going to go over (which I'm starting to think - reason I hedged my first bet) pick wsex.

after reviewing the facts... Ishe by Dec.

Hey guys i see Smith by a convincing decision, but i think it is a very good bet that it will go over the rounds. Smith is really starting to come on, and shouldnt have to much of a problem here. Good luck

At this time, lines are available for the following fights. I feel that the best value is in the line for Ishe Smith over Randall Bailey. I only feel comfortable with this fight. For the other fights, either the lines are too steep for the fighters I like or they are too close to call.

Johnson is a very game fighter. I won with him when he was a 3 to 1 underdog against Eric Harding last year. Because he gives such a great effort each time he steps into the ring, I would not bet against him in this type of evenly matched fight. Many felt he won the first fight against Woods. Luckily for Woods, that fight was in his backyard, as will be the case again here.

As long as Smith has a chin it should be a relatively easy win. Bailey can hit very hard but thats about it. His boxing skills are almost non existent.

I recently heard from a "boxing expert" that this fight may just be an HBO gift to Gatti after having his 3 bouts with Ward, which were all very successful for HBO.

I see a fight dominated by Smith with a score similar to the Garr fight. 100-90, 99-91, 100-91 in favor of Ishe.

The line for Ishe Smith is really moving at Oly. It's gone from -240 to -350. Still -280 at WSEX.

Who's laying the heavy wood at Oly?

I don't know... but Ishe Smith hasn't been that tested. he's going up against a good puncher. (he's still my pick, but those odds are high, IMO)

I agree somewhat Big KO. Smith's chin hasn't been tested so Bailey has a punchers chance. The problem for Bailey is that besides power, Smith is better in EVERY single area. With Bailey moving up in weight that could even negate his power advantage.

If you dont mind my asking Valdosta, what were your limits at -120, and -140 before the lines changed at 5Dimes?

Also, do you know what the opening line was on this one at Olympic?

By the way, I thought I was the first to jump on this one.
